Directed a shared
services IT organization, supporting six electric and gas distribution operating companies serving 3 million customers across
four states. Established a Project Management Office with budget, schedule and performance accountability for two major IT
Service Management initiatives, including ITIL v3 Security integration.

- Directed an enterprise wide technology infrastructure
and desktop services upgrade, resulting in an annual save over $1M. The following major sub projects under PMO management
were accomplished over an 18 month period:
- Application
remediation and packaging using Admin Studio for over 1400 desktop applications to successfully execute on Windows XP
- RFP generation and selection of Dell to replace current HP legacy
inventories utilizing a four year leasing refresh schedule
- Implementation, configuration and production deployment of Active Directory to replace legacy file management
systems
- Implementation, configuration and
production deployment of Altiris to provide remote control, software distribution, patch management, asset management and
software license reconciliation
- Development
of a single desktop and laptop image utilizing WinPE, Symantec Ghost and Scripting to build a self configuring, layered deployment
stack consisting of the OS - Windows XP, Policy - Active Directory, Security - McAfee, Management - Altiris, Productivity
- Office 2003 and Applications - depending on location and roles
- Implementation, configuration and production deployment of Exchange and Outlook replacing four legacy email
systems
- Re-IP of over 1500 Windows and Unix
servers, storage devises and printers
- Implementation
of secure VPN and Citrix solutions for Remote Access
- Deployment
of over 6000 desktops and laptops across 100+ locations, in four states
- Consolidation of over 800 network printers and replacement by Xerox Multi Function Devices
- Sponsored and executed an ITIL v3 initiative to integrate Incident Management, Asset Request Management
and Security Identity Management. Established a PMO and over a 12 month period:
- Redesigned existing Incident, Request and Security Identity Management processes and created solution
blueprints
- Trained 40 IT personnel who certified
at the ITIL Foundations level
- Sourced two
new enterprise level tool sets:
- Infra
- Incident Management Suite
- Courion - Identity
Management Suite
- Integrated Incident
Management, Identity Management and Asset Management (Altiris) systems. Data sources included Active Directory, SAP and PBX's.
- Designed and implemented new role based templates supporting fully
automated, SOX compliant security access provisioning without approvals, reducing security provisioning for major systems
from days and weeks to minutes
- Implemented
a self service ‘Smart Form' that provided one stop shopping for end user Incident Management, hardware and
software request fulfillment and Rolls Based Security Access Management utilizing a shopping cart format.
- Trained 6000 clients on the new processes and technology
- Designed and implemented new performance metrics and KPI's
- Drove hard cost savings over $368K per annum
